Kuala Terengganu — 2 nights

Once a small fishing village, Kuala Terengganu is now a developing city where skyscrapers often stand shoulder to shoulder with traditional kampong-style houses.
On the 13th (Thu), tour the pleasant surroundings at Sekayu Agriculture Park - Taman Pertanian Negeri, then head off the coast to Gemia Island, and then tour the pleasant surroundings at Penarik Beach. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: enjoy the sand and surf at Teluk Kalong Beach.

Kuala Lumpur to Kuala Terengganu is an approximately 2.5-hour flight. You can also drive; or take a bus. The smaller of the two coral-tinged Perhentian Islands, Pulau Perhentian Kecil remains more popular with the younger backpacker crowd due to more affordable living costs.
On the 15th (Sat), go for a walk through Pulau Perhentian Kincir Angin, then discover the deep blue sea with a scuba or snorkeling tour, and then contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Perhentian Island Mosque.
