The Town Built on Tin

The city of Ipoh, fourth-largest in Malaysia and historically a mining town, has recently seen a complete reinvention and resurgence as a burgeoning tourism destination, thanks in part to its significant heritage.
Escape the urban bustle at Gua Tempurung and Perak Tong Cave Temple. Pack the 5th (Sat) with family-friendly diversions at Lost World Of Tambun. There's still lots to do: get engrossed in the history at Ipoh World at Han Chin Pet Soo, take a peaceful walk through Bukit Kledang, take in the dramatic scenery at Lata Ulu Chepor, and look for all kinds of wild species at My Gopeng Resort.

Abode of Grace
The Malaysian state of Perak centers around human history and natural beauty. Dutch and British colonial empires both viewed the area as strategically important because of its tin mines, and the footprint of the two European powers can still be seen in historical sites, architecture, and museums here. The rural inland regions feature untouched areas of forestland, while the coast is made up of remote islands dotted with quant fishing villages and white beaches.
