Danum Valley Conservation Area, Sabah

#11 of 42 in Nature in Sabah
Trek the humid rainforests of Danum Valley Conservation Area, a conservation area never before disturbed by human settlement. You have the option of exploring the jungle yourself, but if you wish to see as much as you can during your stay, consider booking a guide. The dense greenery shelters many wild species, including wild orangutans, boars, porcupines, birds, and many species of monkeys. You might come across a tarantula or two, so leave any fear of creepy crawlies back home. Besides a daytime tour, you can also opt for a night trek and bird watching. Adventurous visitors can also try a canopy walk above the jungle. Arrange to visit Danum Valley Conservation Area and other attractions in Sabah using our Sabah tour itinerary planning tool .

  • Happy to arrive at Danum Valley, our joy was quickly lost because of a guide really not passionate and it's a shame. Nature is sublime but we couldn't fully enjoy it because our guide was used to walking and showing us the riches of this fabulous region. Few animals seen, few curiosities visited (cascades, tombs...). Our record of staying in Danum Valley is horrific, 3 days lost in our 28-day Malaysian trip

  • Jungle trekking is very nice in Danum valley, you can see many endemic flora and fauna. We stayed 4d3n and saw 2 times of orangutan! And slow loris, red leaf monkey and rhinoceros horn bills. It's one of the best getaway if you are a keen natura lover!
  • Great place, lots of wildlife around this place, including some of the amazing animas such as Orangutan, Red leaf monkey, Binturong, Hornbill, etc.
