Set against the reflection of the harbor lights on the water, Straits Quay represents a collection of shops with a maritime setting. Browse through the clothing stores, sip a coffee at a cafe, or go on a hunt for souvenirs at one of the gift shops that line the marina. In the early evening the mall is quiet, and the breeze through the open-air kiosks welcomes walkers. At night the mall becomes abuzz with energy as the restaurants and bars fill up with people wanting to experience the nightlife. Stop at the supermarket for some fresh sushi, and then find a bench from which to admire the yachts in the harbor. Straits Quay Reviews
Besides a few shops and a wonderful view of the quay there isn't much to do here. A fair number of shops are vacant. more »
The tenants mix is not interesting at all. Lifeless despite nice quay frontage. The mall management should do more marketing and pull better tenants and interesting activities. No cruise or other tour... more »
Absolutely lovely views. Just wish there were a few more shops like a book & stationery store, a pharmacy & personal care store, and a (complementary) clothing store. Lots appear quite empty in some areas. However, there is a supermarket and 2 convenience stores, though not selling what I'd like. Penang PAC (Performing Arts Centre), a hall and convention centre are attached here. F&B outlets is a good selection of cuisine fares & price range, and sufficient halal restaurants/cafes. Family-friendly place. There are many ways to get to the boardwalk, but easiest is to enter at the main entrance and walk straight through, past the Tourism Counter and out the other set of glass doors.
It happen that we are having a dead mouse on top of our salon ceiling and it has come worse to worst where the unpleasant smell is all over our salon. We then went to lodge a complain and hope management can help us to remove it. At the end, one of your lady staff called us and told us to settle the problem ourselves as that is not SQ management’s problem. She even said this issue is our own problem. I guess that’s really rude and not a good way to help us to solve the problem. Come on, I’ve been working in malls for so long and they even help us to settle such issue easily. What an irresponsible management like you guys literally asked us to settle this issue ourselves. So what do you mean? As if we ask for this to happen. And bear in mind that our company does pay maintenance fees just like every tenant does. You guys really need to buck up your staffs in ways of handling tenants issues.
