Taman Negara National Park, Taman Negara National Park

#2 of 28 in Nature in Pahang
National Park · Nature / Park
Trek through one of the oldest rainforests in the world at Taman Negara National Park, where you can traverse canopy walkways high in the treetops, enter caves housing unusual rock formations and colonies of bats, and take a boat trip down a meandering river. The jungle shelters rare Malaysian tigers, Indian elephants, rhinos, and leopards, but these rarely come near the tourist trails. You're more likely to see crab-eating macaques, snakes, lizards, bats, colorful birds, all kinds of insects, and almost certainly some leeches. Stick to the well-maintained footpaths and canopy walks close to the park's headquarters for shorter adventures, or spend several days camping and exploring the wilderness trails with a guide.
