Visit secluded Pasir Tengkorak Beach, and relax in the quiet forested environment. The beach is associated with many local legends, and its name means "Sandy Skull Beach" in Malay. Enjoy the pristine white sand and clear water, with mild waves that make it great for swimming. Explore the lush green surroundings and rock formations that line the shore. Have a picnic in one of the gazebos or on picnic tables sprawled along the coast. You'll have to bring your own refreshments, and remember not to leave your belongings unguarded, as monkeys might try to search them for food. Shower and bathroom facilities are available. Put Pasir Tengkorak Beach at the forefront of your travel plans using our Langkawi trip itinerary site.

The beach has an interesting background to its name. Also called the Sandy Skull Beach, it brings back images of pirates. It's a favourite picnic spot for locals, but you'll see foreigners...

What a wonderful find! This was the best beach that we visited on our recent Langkawi trip. The beach area is small but clean with shady trees that provide shelter from the sun. Great for swimming. Frequented largely by locals with small children but was far from crowded on a weekday morning. Bring a mat and some drinks/snacks, there are no shops in the area and the chalets behind the trees look deserted.

The beach itself is nice, secluded with soft sand and nice water. But it's probably not worth the drive there. The first sight you see when you arrive is an overflowing rubbish dump in the parking lot. Then it should have been a beautiful nature trail to get to the beach which instead is littered with loose garbage that someone could easily cleanup or have discarded responsibility from the beginning. Then when you reach the beach it's more a haze of smoke from various small camp fires being lit by all of the groups of people to cook food. So the beach was actually quite busy today, many large groups having big picnics, complete with some people chopping some small trees/branches to feed the fires, others chasing after the monkies that stole some food... The place would definitely be much better, a hidden gem in fact, if it was cleaned up and looked after...
