Sarawak Museum, Kuching

This museum was blown away by the quality and variety of exhibits on display. From the moment I walked in, I was transported to Sarawak local art, history, and culture, and was truly impressed by the attention to detail and thought that went into each and every exhibit. One of the highlights of my visit was on the 3rd floor. The accompanying information and context provided by the museum really helped me understand and appreciate the piece on a deeper level. The museum staff were also incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, making my visit even more enjoyable. Overall, I had an incredible experience at Sarawak museum and would highly recommend a visit to anyone who loves art, history, and culture. Whether you're a seasoned museum-goer or a first-time visitor, there is something for everyone to enjoy and learn.

Newest Museum in Kuching, Sarawak. The Borneo Cultures Museum, touted the biggest (30,000sqm building) in Malaysia and second largest in Southeast Asia. Free entrance until further notice. Booking for visit is not required. Brand new five level museum with spacious display for people to enjoy 100 years of Sarawak history. First level house the interactive displays for the kids to enjoy & learn about the environment. The rest of the levels has many interesting Borneo forest animals & tribal items displayed. Over 1,000 artefacts that boast the rich culture and heritage of the indigenous peoples of Borneo and Sarawak, with 30% interactive features. Definitely worth at least a couple of hours or half a day to explore at your leisure. Must see for tourists or residents who are keen to learn about the rich history of Sarawak. There is a museum gift shop at ground level as well. Still a little empty as it’s new, more displays or online audio guide assistance could be added for improvements.
