  • We crisscrossed Borneo for 2 weeks and visited many different parks but this one left us with a very bitter taste. Apart from the fact that it was a rainy day, we didn't expect such a sad place. Animals seem to be just as important. The paddocks are small and sinister. The intentions may be good but it's really a grim place. As said, it was raining and it was clear that the orangutans, the bears would have taken shelter but the inner cages were closed (probably for visitors to see). The orangutans were therefore facetious in trying to hide under tree leaves but were also trying to open the doors. No trees for them, only high walls and little activity. Visit short and we do not recommend.

  • This was a most distressing experience. I had hoped for authentic rehabilitation and that my money would be spent for a worthwhile cause. The animals paced back and forth in their cages or sat looking...  more »

  • Animals are living in a badly maintain environment. There are not many animals and yet it is made to stay in such shabby environment. Either the management revamp the place or put the animals back to the wild.
  • This place is very good to visit, not because you can see the endangered orang utans, sunbears etc. Its a good place because you can help to make it a better place for this poor animals in the cages. This center really needs money for growing and become a better place. People who write bad recensions dont know the background and it doesn't will make the animals come out of there. I ONLY CAN RECOMMEND to go there talk with a Ranger to understand the history of the animals and of the center. Hopefully in a few years this center will change in a good way. And yes it made me also very sad looking to the animals in enclosure. But not supporting the center will not change anything. And if you have time you can join the volunteer programm which you can find on internet (I forgot the name).
