Head to Merdeka Square, a site of symbolic importance to modern Malaysia. The plaza started off life as a cricket green of the Selangor club. Today, it represents Malaysia's independence: at midnight on August 31, 1957, it became the first place that the British flag was lowered and the Malaysian flag raised. Surrounded by colonial British architecture and the developing skyline of contemporary Malaysia, the monumental area features a fountain and plaque commemorating the historical event that took place here. Put Merdeka Square on your schedule, and learn what else deserves a visit by using our Kuala Lumpur planning site.

  • historical place. architexture dan beautifu place for alone dan with family.
  • This is a place well maintained but the cyclists kind of carry away the way they like it. Ignores other users and projects themselves no discipline and childish. Visitors have to be extra careful especially bringing children and elderly. Some parents let their children play on the road without supervise too.
