Head up to the highest viewpoint in the city at Menara Kuala Lumpur. Opened in 1996, this striking communications tower stands at 421 m (1,381 ft) tall and has become a popular tourist attraction, offering unimpeded 360-views of Kuala Lumpur. The elevator up to the observation area moves at quite a speed, taking just 54 seconds to reach the top. Once at the platform, take things at your own pace, enjoying a sit-down meal from the comfort of the revolving restaurant. • We only went to the observation deck as it was cheaper. It was a good experience nothing much to do or see. It will add more to the experience when you purchase skydeck and skybox.

  • We went just in time for sunset and it was quite a line at the ticket counter, which you can avoid if you get tickets online. The Observation Deck is an enclosed space so we chose to go to the Observation Deck, higher up in open air. The view over Kuala Lumpur was magnificent, especially as the sun was going down. We also went to the Sky Box which is fun simply for the fact that it's a balcony with glass floor. Be advised you're only allowed 1 minute and 40 seconds in the Sky Box so make your photos count. And shoes have to come off.
  • Going to the top is very fascinating. I would like to advise others to get the brunch option at the 360 revolving restaurant which is one level high above the standard observatory tower. The advantage is that you will get the brunch along with 360 degree views, beautiful ambiance in a fractional price difference. I didn't know otherwise I would have taken this option for my whole family. The standard level is also great to be there and you can capture beautiful sky scrappers from the windows. Enjoy your time out there!!
