Visit Central Market Kuala Lumpur, a famous retail and cultural center noted as a Malaysian Heritage Site. Founded in 1888, the iconic Art Deco building originally served the local community as a wet market selling meat and produce. Today it features a traditional stall layout with vendors selling everything from antiques to T-shirts. Head to the annex in the back of the building to see art galleries, performance areas, and shops selling arts and crafts. • This used to be a favourite place for me and my daughter as they have shops that showcase local products. Now, more than half of the shops are closed. It is really sad. It used to be a bustling...

  • Due to the pandemic, many of the shops are currently closed and the outdoor area is blocked off. Beware of exiting the rear side of the market as near the triangle park there are many homeless...

  • Since I didn't this site for a long time, the new look of Central Market was quite fascinating to me. With a new light blue colour exterior wall, it looks more outstanding and bright. Unfortunately couldn't enter. Not sure whether closed or under renovation. Despite the new look, the area is so dull unlike the busier days of yesteryears. Hope the opening of international borders will attract more foreign tourists as well as locals to visit this foremost Arts Market in the country.
  • A lot of options for apparel and souvenir shopping. Clean environment. Comfort rooms are available. Food shops are also available
