Create an itinerary including Sapi Island
Enjoy a day on Sapi Island, one of five islands in a protected marine park off the coast of Borneo. Just a 20-minute boat ride from Kota Kinabalu, the island offers clean, white sands and clear waters. The main attraction here remains the wildlife: hike inland to see big monitor lizards and wild boars, and snorkel through the water to admire the coral and colorful fish in a diverse marine environment. Try out a range of activities, including island-to-island zipline and banana boating, and then relax in one of the restaurants. A visit to Sapi Island represents just the start of the adventure when you use our Kota Kinabalu travel planner to plot your vacation.

  • The island is small but ideal for snorkeling and very near to the hotel almost less than 10 minutes away. You have to pay an entry fee though for conservation

  • You must visit Sapi if you travel Saba. The best island in my life :)
  • The day we went sea was bit rough. We had opted for Sapi and Manukan island. We started from Sutera jetty and reached Sapi island around 11 am (20 - 30) boat ride. Saw few fishes and corals around the island. There's 1 shop where we can easily get water bottles, towels, etc. Later, we moved to Manukan island, where we had our lunch at Sutera restaurant. Service was too slow and had to wait for more than 45 minutes to get the food ordered.
