LOST in JB Reviews
escape room, so you'll look to solve puzzles with your friends. I like that its not just one room, but a sequence, so it's easier for you to focus on what is important, unlike some other escape rooms.... more »
6 of us played two rooms - soulmate and legendary swordsman- at Lost in JB (Mount Austin) . We’ve played most of the escape games in Singapore and the rooms here did not fail to amaze us! It’s been... more »
The staff attitude was pretty deplorable. Millennials that were more preoccupied chatting with each other than actually serving customers. We spent 10 minutes working on a puzzle before realizing that one of the props we used were malfunctioning / broken. Staff were super bo chup and berated us for not using the phone to call them in. Some of the puzzles were cleverly designed, but others were falling apart (frayed rope & strings, blocks with beat up edges). It was pretty clear that at some point in time, the owners just gave up trying to maintain the props in good condition or replacing them when they got worn out. The video and sound content could have been improved with actual voice actors. Lighting conditions in the rooms was extremely poor, and hurt our eyes. Some of the rooms were extremely tight and narrow. There were only 4 of us playing, but the room was supposed to be designed for 6-8... (midgets? halflings? gnomes?). We were here on what should have been a peak time - Sunday evening after dinner - and nobody else was here to play. Now that should have been a clue for all of us to make our escape immediately.
Went on a lazy monday afternoon without any bookings. They had 2 rooms empty and we paid RM42/pax for the Soulmate room. +ve 1. Fun experience in general; puzzles required some thinking but were not too hard to be unsolvable. There were both english & chinese available on the hints but we do find that knowledge of chinese is helpful for some of the clues. 2. Great use of space. It was a small area but we went through 3 rooms (quite claustrophic actually....) and 2 connecting "corridors". It included sliding down a fireman pole and some crawling which was interesting (and still doable for someone wearing a long dress). 3. Successful jumpscares. The setting was indeed eerie and creepy. There were jumpscare moments after unlocking certain portions that got me screaming successfully.... the scary atmosphere was quite well done in general. 4. Friendly & helpful staff. The staff told us an interesting backstory and explained everything to us kindly and patiently. We then made about a million phonecalls during our quest and the staff were helpful. 5. Wacky and fun props for phototaking! They'll also print a photo (but just one though...) and give it to you at the end. -ve 1. Some of the unlock mechanisms weren't as sensitive. We struggled for quite a bit to unlock a couple of the mechanisms even though we had successfully solved the puzzle. The staff even had to come in and help us for one of the mechanism. Overall positive experience. Unfortunately, we didn't solve the room in time and exceeded by 7 minutes. They didn't chase us out and let us solved the entire room though. Would go back and try out other rooms :)
