Located in the heart of the Nusajaya township in Johor, Iskandar Malaysia, the Horizon Hills Golf and Country Club is no doubt the centre of attraction for golf lovers. It has been awarded the CNBC Asia Pacific Property Award for The Best Golf Development in Asia Pacific and Malaysia and Most Memorable Golf Course in Malaysia by The Star Newspaper. Our Johor Bahru online tour planner makes visiting Horizon Hills Golf and Country Club and other Johor Bahru attractions simple, and helps you make a travel plan personal to you.
The magnificent 18-hole international championship golf course, designed by Ross Watson, has hosted one of Malaysia’s top professional championships including the Iskandar Johor Open.
Horizon Hills is a risk and reward affair, where numerous shimmering, glistening clear lakes and streams dot the valley, daring the braves to attempt heroics with premium rewards. Many of the holes feature dramatic changes in elevation from tee to green and this natural landscape is enhanced with preservation of the natural terrain plus a network of waterways.
Lavish praise is in place for the seashore Paspalum fairways and Tifeagle greens. The superbly manicured fairways are a joy to hit from while the greens, slick and tricky, can be quite a challenge especially with speeds of 11 to 12 on the stimpmeter.
Horizon Hills Golf and Country Club Reviews
One of the better managed golf course in Malaysia. Teeing areas, fairway, bunkers and rough are well maintained. Greens are pretty fast at about 10. Players must engaged a caddy and credit must go to.... more »
The course is in good condition and has fast greens. Maybe to many blind shots from the tee. Anyway it worth it. more »
Wow. I know golfers come here for the great golf course, but I came here for a seminar and I must say I was super-impressed. I do training and speaking at many clubs already, this is clearly the best yet. The staff were friendly and attentive. Facilities were more than adequate and close by. Food was good. Their equipment was top-notch. I am in the habit of bringing my own cables, mini-speakers, adapters, pens, and even, believe it or not, my own mini projector but here, none is needed: this club had everything in working condition.
Its a 5 if its just the golf course, but a 4 as an entire golfing package. Golfing is great but the experience and facilities can be improved. Challenging golf course not for the high handicappers to enjoy unless you are a regular here. There's several holes that captivate you with the layout and scenery and also can destroy your score as well. Lots of sand traps around the greens. The greens are always at 10 on the stimp and the management takes great pains ensuring green conditions are of high standard. The 18th hole is a great finishing hole with island green that requires precision. The staff are a friendly lot. Negatives-slow play is a major issue. Marshals and starters can do better job getting people tee off on time and speed up play. Perhaps they should not let people play from back tee. Its already a tough course. Half way hut is now, unlike a premium golf club. Food at the golf terrace has improved tremendously, but best to ask the servers on the size serving of some food which can be as big as for 3 people (weird). But slow play always the issue here as tee times are not adhered to. Club members have no privilege for parking. The parking bays are not big enough. Sometimes when there's functions at the restaurant, extremely hard to find parking.
