Stroll around the city's "green lung" at Penang Botanical Gardens. Established by the British on the site of an old granite quarry in 1884, the public gardens stretch out across 29 hectares (72 acres). Amble across the scenery to find the famous trees that live here, many with evocative nicknames like "the five o'clock tree" (its buds close just before dark). If you need a little exercise during your trip, come here for a jog, jungle trekking, or aerobics. Spot the many animals that call the park home, with long-tailed macaques, dusky leaf monkeys, and black giant squirrels among the favorites. Penang Botanical Gardens is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our , international travel planner Edition.

  • Fill your leisure time here. You can have a picnic and jog in the park. Besides that, you can also take photos of you surrounded by the nature.

  • Finally get to visit Penang Botanic Garden. Decent place to visiting with your loved one as the place is not crowded with people. Like the cleanliness and wide variety of flower and leaves plants. Just a suggestion, that would be great if the fern house is open for closer look at the little plant. Unfortunately, the natural fish pond is dried out. However, garden is diversify with weird fruit and fungus that we found fascinating. Might need to be careful with the monkeys tho as they seem to be aggressive if you go near their feeding ground. Anyway, it was a good idea to have such place. Definitely worth the time and things is no entry fees is needed. If not because of the far distance, I would like to go there once or twice in a week to rewind from busy city.
  • Well maintained park! The highlight for me was the fern garden, it was so serene, and well taken care of. Note that there were some well behaved stray dogs, and oh so many monkeys...
