Cherating Turtle Sanctuary, Cherating

It's a small educational center on sea turtle not sure where they do the conservation work, there are 4 turtles confined in two small pools which I feel they can do better to house them, they look healthy though. No payment is required but a donation is encouraged. Time spend around 20 to 30mins depending on your pace.

An excellent turtle sanctuary that has been here for almost 50 years. Juvenile turtles are a guarantee here while you can try your luck to see the baby turtle (definitely not available during non-nesting season). You can learn a lot about the ecology, life cycle, threats and importance of the turtles in both Malaysia and the world. You will find precious specimens of turtles, corals and even dugong here. You should not touch the specimens as they are very fragile and precious. Do donate to them and support their excellent work by not purchase any turtle products outside!
